California Chaparral Fulgoroid - Danepteryx

California Chaparral Fulgoroid - Danepteryx
Chaparral, Santa Barbara County, California, USA
March 31, 2012
Size: to 5mm
This is a very abundant, generalist fulgoroid plant hopper found in the chaparral around Santa Barbara. Can anybody give me a more specific ID. Hopefully to genus at least. I think it's in the family Issidae, but I don't know for sure.

Danepteryx sp.
I'm pretty sure this is a Danepteryx, family Issidae. How do I move it?

ID confirmed by K.G.A. Hamilton

You can move it by
clicking "tag" then move images on the destination page(see more at the help tab at the top). We generally leave photos at this level so Dr. H will see them and ID them further, even if we know what it is.

Cropped and moved for expert attention.
Moved from ID Request.

You can always tell where a pic is...
...by looking at the string of terms above it. This has been moved to Free-living Hemipterans (Auchenorrhyncha), which is where our hopper expert, Dr. Hamilton, looks for images.
