Arabesque Orbweaver - Neoscona arabesca - female

Arabesque Orbweaver - Neoscona arabesca - Female
Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana, USA
August 12, 2012
For Indiana in August

Moved
Moved from Spotted Orbweaver. Yes, we think arabesca is a better match. Compare with one found in NB where that's the only species of Neoscona.

Thanks, Lynette!

Neoscona domiciliorum?
That's a beauty. I don't think it has the typical Neoscona domiciliorum pattern. You could be right though. Any chance you got some close-ups of the scape?

No underside shots
I agree that the pattern doesn't look typical - I also considered Arabesque orbweaver (Neoscona arabesca), but she seemed too large for that species. I'll defer to your judgement if you think this should be moved. Thanks for commenting!
