Spider 23 - Neoscona arabesca

Spider 23 - Neoscona arabesca
Black Mountain, Buncombe County, North Carolina, USA
June 15, 2012

Moved to N. arabesca
Moved from Spiders. Although they can both look similar, especially when they are immature... I've taken to separating them by hair color on the legs when I can't separate them by dorsal pattern or range. I've found that N. arabesca tends to have black hair on the legs while N. crucifera tends to have white hairs on the legs.

We would have suggested
N. arabesca, but Lynette will likely figure it out.

Spotted Orb Weaver (Neoscona)
One of the Neoscona species, probably N. crucifera but I'm not certain. Let's see what the others think.
