Chance meeting - Heliastus benjamini - male - female

Chance meeting - Heliastus benjamini - Male Female
East of Tucson, Saguaro National Park, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 30, 2012
Size: one inch, slightly less
I see these grasshoppers on occasion, usually perched on rocks in a wash, and usually by themselves. I was photographing the male when the female showed up...I never look a gift horse in the mouth...I took the picture. They seem to be more "trim" then another grasshopper I also see, whose image I will soon send in.

I thought maybe that's what the little critters were, but there are simply so many grasshoppers with a similar pattern...one never knows. Thanks for taking the time to identify them. By the way, I've seen some of your photograpy...very good!
