Unknown Springtail - Seira domestica
Middle Village, Queens County, New York, USA
July 5, 2012
Size: ~ 3mm
Feel free to frass, found near my window sill and this was the only shot I could get, just curious if it can be taken down further

Look at that,
I'll know better next time before I expect something to be frassed Robert that's awesome, and thank you Dr. Janssens!

Slender Springtail - Slender Springtail
Moved from Elongate-bodied Springtails.

Congrats! This is only the second to be posted on BugGuide ... and you wanted to frass :)

Seira domestica
A typical domestic springtail.
Note in this specimen both antennae have been truncated. In good specimens the antennae are quite long.

Antonio, there's no frassing this fine specimen and equally fine photo. Your photo clearly shows a defined terga, markings and setae. Dr. Jannsens may likely be able to ID to species. Well done.
Robert

Thanks for the
kind words Robert, I'm always iffy about posting pictures that are a little fuzzy and with only one orientation, but hopefully Dr. Jannsens can help take it further, thanks!
