Halictid bee? - Halictus farinosus - Male
Angeles Crest Highway, alt. ~6500 ft, San Gabriel Mountains, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 2, 2006
Size: ~12mm
Male bee gathering nectar in Rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus nauseosus).
My guess is that this is a Halictid (M is strongly curved, don't know about other characters)??
