Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, Alachua County, Florida, USA
November 5, 2012
Nest under the eaves of the kiosk overlooking Alachua Sink. The large amount of yellow on these wasps suggests P. major to me. If so, it's the first nest documented in the county, and the first (as far as I know) this far north in Florida. Photo by Effie Smith.

What a spectacular nest!

Looks good to me... Do you have a close up of one of the wasps?

Alas,
no. I had to ask someone to get a photo of the nest, and this was what I received.
