Spider Web - Badumna longinqua

Spider Web - Badumna longinqua
On the coast, south of Fort Bragg, Mendocino County, California, USA
November 6, 2012
Size: maybe 6" wide
Spider web I.D.? This was taken along route 1 south of Fort Bragg in Mendocino County. I have seen this kind of web in California before, but I've never seen the spider that makes it.

spider web
Hi Steve, interesting web! Just to clarify what I am seeing the web appears to be either triangular or ray shaped? It appears the spider is using the crack in the fence as its retreat. It may be hard to figure this out... if what we're seeing is only part of the web.
Here are some ideas of what we might consider
1. Lampshade spider - Family Hypochilidae
2. Kukulcania.
3. Zygiella - this would be if we're only seeing part of the web
4. Badumna longinqua - Hmmm I think that's it!

thanks Lynette!

Spiders on Drugs
I don't know much about spiders, but since no one else has responded, I may's well take a shot. I found some similar webs on Spiders on Drugs. You may well find a satisfactory answer there :)
