Egg sac: interior - Araneus diadematus

Size: 12 mm longest diam.
Inside the loose silk fluff was a compact mass of eggs, packed tightly together but prone to separate with handling.
After freezing the eggs, I counted them. There were 1,103. There were probably a few more that got lost at various stages, but no more than a few.
