Sawfly larvae -
Dimorphopteryx
Kingston, Ontario, Canada
Size: approx. 1 cm
Found these wierd looking caterpillars (if they are caterpillars at all) on some maple leaves, need help for an ID. I think they may be Red Winged Sallow, Xystopeplus rufago (pg 412 Wagner)

I agree that this is Dimorphopteryx sp.
Small horns are visible in these larvae expecialy in the top larva.

Possibly Dimorphopteryx
although I don't see the horns that should be by the head.

Sawfly larvae?
I am pretty sure these are going to turn out to be sawfly larvae. You might cross-reference "Tenthredinidae" with the name of the host plant and see what comes up.
