Tubeworm Moths - Acrolophus - male - female

Tubeworm Moths - Acrolophus - Male Female
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
July 26, 2006
Mating behavior. The female raised her wings and fluttered, keeping them in an extended position until a male finally gave her some attention.

Excellent Photo For Illustrating the ID Problem....
....two (out of many?) very differently colored forms of the same species.

Exactly
I only uploaded these because we didn't have an image of mating.
