Mulitcolored Ant? from Armleder Park, Cincinnati, OH - Taeniaptera trivittata

This bug was sitting on a blade of grass in the early morning. I was suprised at the variety of color. The front legs are tipped with white. Occasionaly it would wave one of the front legs in the air. I am not familiar with small bugs but I was guessing this is some ant species.

Moved from Flies.

It's actualy a fly :-)
Those white-tipped forelegs are used to attract and court a mate.

Yes, and I believe it's this one

Thanks!
