Polistes exclamans

Polistes exclamans
Beeville, Bee County, Texas, USA
October 17, 2010
I found several nests of wasps at the edge of an area with shrubs. Some were built to a height of 2 m or more, others were built in less than one meter from the ground. Nest of images above is built about 2 m high.
Photos are taken on October 17, 2010, except for the last photo in this series, which was made on November 28, 2010.
After one month and ten days, the nests seemed to be abandoned. Up to two or three wasps were still on some nests. On some nests, there was none.
Only one wasp on the above nest.
