Epicauta murina (LeConte)
Yes, this is Epicauta murina (LeConte). It's the only species in the subgenus Macrobasis found in New Brunswick (the other three species are in Epicauta (s. str.)). Epicauta (Macrobasis) fabricii (LeConte) has been recorded from Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia (but not N.B.), however, it has denser pubescence, and in females, antennomere 2 is equal in length to 3, whereas in this specimen (E. murina) antennomere 2 is distinctly longer than 3. This is by far and away the commonest species of Epicauta in the Maritime Provinces.

we'll have to wait for Dr Pinto to return from his trip
most likely, female murina, but...

Moved from Epicauta.
