Mordellistena aspersa (Melsheimer)
This is a common species, but the dearth of work on the Mordellidae in the Maritime Provinces means that it's still a good record, the first one I have from northern New Brunswick.

This appears to be Mordellistena aspersa, a common widespread sp., although I would appreciate a (ventral?) view of the palpi and head front if available.

Excellent!!!
confirms M. aspersa - head is black (including front) except for mentum, and last seg max palpi is scalene (with apical side longer than inner), not securiform (hatchet shaped).
