Caterpillar - Darapsa myron

Caterpillar - Darapsa myron
Upper Stamp Creek, Lake Allatoona, Georgia, USA

Moved from Sphinx Moths.

Darapsa myron
This is a middle - probably third - instar hog sphinx. I've raised dozens of these and they can be quite variable throughout their development. The red and yellow diamond back pattern doesn't appear on all individuals but it isn't rare.
