Very nice. The good thing about this genus is it is monotypic, which makes things alot easier. Too bad there isn't a common name for this species, it's always nice to have a little english. On the other hand now you can call it what ever you want. Very nice photo by the way.

and thanks for the quick identification! Since the guide photo (a great picture) was taken only about 20 miles away (as a crow flies) from my shot perhaps we should call this the Rocky Mountain Bee Fly...
