Another Floridian shield-backed bug - Orsilochides guttata

Another Floridian shield-backed bug - Orsilochides guttata
Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, USA
August 28, 2006
Size: 10 mm
This looks like the same one Tony and Jim have already posted from FL (below). The markings are fairly consistent - I hope we'll get an ID eventually. This one was on Ragweed. This list from North Dakota has one called Symphyllus punctellus hosting on a ragweed (ambrosia) - I wonder if this could be it - I'm thinking punctellus would be a good species name for this one. Does anyone have any good references on this family?

Moved
Moved from Shield-backed Bugs. according to information presented by Michael Garcia here:

Eric has one like this
in his new book identified as Orsilochides guttata sp. page 127

Perhaps he can help us with these
- there's very little information on the web, but whatever this is, it's plentiful around here.
I'll be getting the book soon (I have a bee picture in it) but I don't have it yet.
