Dimorphic Tosale Moth - Tosale oviplagalis - male

Dimorphic Tosale Moth - Tosale oviplagalis - Male
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
August 28, 2006
Size: 17 mm wingspan
Came to the lighted window on my back deck. Captured and posed, wingspan estimated from wing chord. The posture is just so distinctive--I've seen this moth before, but been unable to nail it for a photo.

I must be psychic. I was going to post this to ID request, trusting in Bob Patterson to know it and save me the time of clicking through the guide, but I idly clicked on the moths tab. At random, an image of this very moth came up at the highest level--I could not believe it.
