Eucnemidae, holes in tree - Dirrhagofarsus ernae
100 Acre Wood, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA

These beetles were quite active this night. Lots of little holes in the dead tree, holes that normally had no visible activity. But this night there was a beetle head in most of the holes, a few coming out of the holes and a few walking around.

The next night I collected one
