Scudderia - Scudderia furcata - female

Scudderia - Scudderia furcata - Female
Auburn, Lee County, Alabama, USA
August 30, 2006
Having a difficult time distinguishing the various Scudderia. Perhaps this is a female curve-tailed Bush Katydid, Scudderia curvicauda but the black tibia are throwing me off. Comments appreciated.

Fork-tailed Katydid...
I believe that this is light/dark version of the more common Fork-tailed Katydid (Scudderia furcata). As seen at http://buzz.ifas.ufl.edu/063a.htm, some females of the dark version have very dark hind legs, but as the page also suggests, there is no clear definition on the light/pink/dark versions of this katydid because mixes, as you may have here (although I am colorblind, I dont see any pink on this specimen) in a light/dark hybrid.
