Adult male - Pimoa altioculata - male

Adult male - Pimoa altioculata - Male
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
January 20, 2013
Size: ~7mm body length
Trochanteral apophysis. Not the easiest of things to get at on a live spider! Held flat against tissue paper by a CD case, his long chelicerae naturally tilted out a bit allowing a glimpse of the trochanter area between them and the maxillae. There might be another angle that would've worked better, but in this case all that really mattered was checking to see if it was there.
