Common Grass-veneer - Crambus praefectellus

Common Grass-veneer - Crambus praefectellus
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 24, 2012

Moved

Crambus praefectellus
Single white streak through the wing rather than two streaks, little black dots at the end of the FW rather than long black streaks on a pale patch, and metallic copper color throughout the wings without extensive streaking- this is Crambus praefectellus, not laqueatellus. Crambus laqueatellus looks like this: http://bugguide.net/node/view/518586/bgimage.

Eastern Grass-veneer - Hodges #5378
Moved from Moths.

Amazing, I had moths on there for a couple years, referenced to BG, that were ID'd by JD. I don't even bother with them anymore.

I may have had the luck to post photos on the site at a slow time.
