Size: 4.5 mm
Reared from a small, dead branch of Southern Red Oak.

Moved from Anthaxia.

Females of this species resem
Females of this species resembles the specimens of Anthaxia cyanella. A. cyanella has a prothorax of more than one color instead of being uniformally blue like A. quericola. Also A. cyanella has a host of hickory unlike A. quericola which is oak.

Specific epithet?
Most of the references I can find (all online) suggest this should be A. quercicola, which would make sense since it has oak as its host. I almost changed the name myself, but I realize that scientific names don't always make sense- so I will defer to someone with access to better references.

Thanks
I can'y believe I did not catch that. Thank you for seeing my mistake and letting me know. I corrected it.
