.... forget Gluphisia in favor of some Prominent, but I simply don't get strong enough vibes to settle on any particular species. Maybe Jan or Tony will see this and be able to suggest something.

 
The coarse scaling
and body shape suggests Lasiocampidae. Something close to Heteropacha rileyana?

This is a female Riley's Lappet, Heteropacha rileyana, # 7685. I didn't realize these great pics of rileyana were hidden here in the 'Moths' section. They'll go well with the photo of the male we have. Nice shots.
