Cat Biting Louse - Felicola subrostratus

Cat Biting Louse - Felicola subrostratus
Westbury, Nassau County, New York, USA
December 26, 2012
Cat Biting Louse found on a cat brought in through our ER department at the animal hospital where I work.
These lice are usually found on felines with impaired immune systems. They complete their entire life cycle on the host and are transmitted by direct contact.
