Hawthorn WMA, Mahaska County, Iowa, USA
August 17, 2007

It was so beautiful I had to try to rear it even though I did not know what it was, or more importantly, what it ate.
D Wagner ID'd and luckily I had a source of partridge pea, Chamaecrista fasciculata, nearby.
August 18, 2007: ate some partridge pea
August 21, 2007: pupated
August 31, 2007: adult emerged, (on or before).
