Lixus sp.
I'm pretty sure this is a species of Lixus and not Scaphomorphus. The anterior margin of the ppronotum behind the eye, the postocular lobe, is rounded in most Scaphomorphus and is angulate in most Lixus. There is a grey zone where they get very similar but I think this is a Lixus species. I'd have to look in collection to confirm and can do this later. Off to the field on Monday.
