Polydamas caterpillar - Battus polydamas

Polydamas caterpillar - Battus polydamas
Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, USA
September 1, 2006
Size: 4 cm
On Aristolochia elegans in my yard. I've been growing the vine for two years hoping for one of these! I haven't yet seen an adult in my neighborhood, though I know they can be found at the Kanapaha Botanical Garden a few miles away.

Nice caterpillar
keeping my eyes open for an adult, or caterpillar here. Sure see the resemblance to congener's caterpillar.
