Is this a wasp?

Is this a wasp?
Herndon, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
August 30, 2006
It was just a small red thing moving around by my porch light the other night, so of course I took pictures of it. I need a brighter light - it's hard to focus on these little guys! Anyway, is this a wasp of some sort? It seems to have a tiny abdomen for one, but looks wasp-ish to me...

Braconidae.
Relatively confident this is a braconid wasp.

Thanks to you both!

Before discovering Bug Guide several weeks ago, I had no idea wasps came in such tiny statures!

Ichneumon Wasp (Ichneumonidae)
