Information
Will you please tell us how you differentiate this species from the other Agapostemon? I would like to know.

 
I
used the links on the guide genus info page and also did an image search for texanus. The male species (in FL at least) are easily distinguished by the thickness of the hind leg.
Not to mention there are only two species known to occur in FL according to our info page.
Unless Eric or one of the other experts disagree...

this is indeed splendens
based on dark wings, enlarged femur, and color pattern of legs (illustrated by Roberts, 1972)

Male Agapostemon sp.
This is a male in the genus Agapostemon, family Halictidae.
