Small Wasp - Acanthochalcis nigricans - female

Small Wasp - Acanthochalcis nigricans - Female
San Pedro River Valley, SE of San Manuel , Pinal County, Arizona, USA
June 28, 2012
I know this is a really poor angle for any ID, and I don't have a dorsal or front view, but any ideas would be welcome. Also any idea what the black thickening is around the hind femur (I'm guessing it is the femur). Found on a Palo Verde tree branch at the peak of the hot dry season. Thank you.

Acanthochalcis nigricans…
Nice. The thickening you mentioned is the swollen hind femur which is a typical feature of the Chalcidinae group of wasps.

See reference here.

Thank you
for your help - I really didn't think an ID would be possible.
