Caterpillar - Limenitis

Caterpillar - Limenitis
Harrington, Kent County, Delaware, USA
August 20, 2006
Size: 1-11/4 long
Have had a few of these in my yard. They stay in the same tree for about a week and a half, and then they are gone. They definitely eat the leaves that they are on. All times of day they are there. Has been enjoyable to watch them. Would like to know for sure, what they turn into. Thank you

Are these all different caterpillars?
Or one specimen taken over a period of several days? They are clearly all the same genus (Limenitis), anyway.

Limenitis archippus
Looks like a Viceroy caterpillar to me.
