Size: see photo next to penny
Keep Denton Beautiful had an infestation of gall wasps on live oak saplings at their tree nursery. I pulled some of the galls. Some adults had already left the galls, evidenced by holes, but others remained inside when I cut them open. Several photos of the galls, wasps, and some with a penny for size reference are included. Can these be ID'd from these photos? Sorry no photos were taken under magnification.

checking on oak species
Hi John, I'm not sure I can recall the tree species, but I just sent an email to the folks I worked with then. I know it was a live oak, but not sure whether it was Virginia live oak or plateau live oak. Will find out what I can in a day or two. Thanks for the help :)
