Cicada - Neotibicen tibicen

Cicada - Neotibicen tibicen
Beavercreek, Greene County, Ohio, USA
July 31, 2012

Thank you
for the comment and information, Bill. I had to use google to find a well-labeled image on the Cicada Mania website so I would understand what you are saying. I did not realize that trait were rare in my area and shown by my photo. This one was photographed in my yard, so perhaps I can find another with similar coloration and get better photographs one of these years.

I have cropped the image more tightly to make it easier to see and moved it back to the subspecies page.

Frassed
because I have posted better photos with the same ID.

Moved from Swamp Cicada.

This image is a good example of extensive green
I recommend keeping this image because of the green intrusion on the pronotal collar and mesonotum - a trait NOT as commonly seen among inland populations of this taxon.
