Katy - Neobarrettia spinosa - female

Katy - Neobarrettia spinosa - Female
Canyon Lake, Comal County, Texas, USA
September 3, 2006
This bright bug showed up and lived on my front porch for a day or two.

Thx
Thanks for this great site

Ah HA
Another Greater arid-land predaceous Katydid - Neobarrettia spinosa!

This will be only the second example for the guide.

The reason it looks so mean is because it IS mean. Don't let it chomp you - it'll draw blood!

The black front margin of the prontium is indicative of N. spinosa

Female
