Anglewing Katydid - Microcentrum retinerve - male

Anglewing Katydid - Microcentrum retinerve - Male
Durham County, North Carolina, USA
September 25, 2004
Size: 42 mm to tip of wings
Found in a lighted breezeway. Chilled, posed, and released. Helfer's key How to Know the Grasshoppers (1) suggests this is Microcentrum retinerve, based on the straight front margin of the pronotum. Eric Eaton confirms this in comments here:

Photographed next to a scale--body length, without wings, is about 28 mm, with wings, 42 mm.
