i feel pretty good about the genus Systoechus, but no idea of the species.

Systoechus
Shows the characters of Systoechus nicely. I'm not familiar with the southeastern S. solitus, but it is either that species or the widespread S. vulgaris.

thank you for the information Joel, i was looking at the S. vulgaris when i went to the university museum... it seems a very likely candidate.
