Identification
Adult of Bagisara species : forewing variably pale yellowish to dark brown with three untoothed lines crossing distal half of wing; several species look very similar

Adult of Cydosia species: forewing either all black or with white spots and/or yellow bands (varies within and between species)
Range
southern United States from Florida to California, south to Argentina
Food
larvae of Bagisara species feed on wax mallow (Malvaviscus spp.), fanpetals (Sida spp.) and possibly other tropical/subtropical plants
