Yellowjacket paper wasp? - Polistes dominula - male

Yellowjacket paper wasp? - Polistes dominula - Male
Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 10, 2004
Is this polistes dominulus? Compared to other photos here, I think there is a higher yellow-to-black ratio on the abdomen, and none of the other pictures have the antennae curved.

Polistes dominulus male
Exellent image! You are correct with the ID. CAn tell it is a male by all-yellow face, hooked antennae. Yellow jackets are more robust, and tend to be smaller than Polistes, certainly not as "leggy" and lanky.
