Yellow-crescent Blister Beetle - Pyrota insulata

Yellow-crescent Blister Beetle - Pyrota insulata
32.1306, -97.8593, Somervell County, Texas, USA
March 29, 2013
Ventral view. This image was a taken few seconds before the other. Initial landing was less than graceful with beetle ending up on it's back. One wing is nearly folded and the other still extended. Interesting that the underside of the wing covers has the same markings as the outside. They must go all the way through. I increased brightness of darker areas slightly with photoshop to bring out detail. Front leg pair is still drawn up against thorax. It flipped over and began to run away. (see other image.)
