Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
April 14, 2013
This fly was spotted among dried brome on a cool overcast afternoon at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station. At first glance I thought it was a syrphid, but on second glance I think it might be a tachnid. Perhaps something along the lines of Cylindromyia? Any information will be greatly appreciated!
