Scolopocryptops sexspinosus

Scolopocryptops sexspinosus
St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada
April 23, 2013
Size: 40 mm
My friend found this specimen under a rock early in the afternoon while she and I were searching for salamanders behind Brock University in the fairly undisturbed woods of the Niagara Escarpment. I believe this is the only scolopendromorph centipede known from Ontario and possibly the second specimen ever recorded from the province (Shelley 1992).
