Unknown Spider - Asagena americana

Unknown Spider - Asagena americana
Red Butte Garden, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
April 25, 2013
Wish I had been able to get a bit sharper image - this interesting little fellow was running across the path as fast as those little legs would carry him.

Would americana be in Utah?
Didn't look up the ranges, but that's why we wondered about western Asagena

Yes
If I remember right this is the only Asagena male that looks like this. Also, it is found in Utah.

There are even a few 'western' data points in WA, OR, ID, AZ, NM, CO, TX, OK, NE. It appears to be fairly wide-spread though maybe not all that common.

Moved from ID Request.

It
sure looks like it to me! You guys are good.

Makes us think of Asagena

Wonder if the western males also look like this?

Asagena?
I'm thinking Asagena too. The legs are looking a little thin to me though. Variation maybe?
