My question is this.
These beetles are all over my frostweed. This may seem like a naive question but where did they all come from? Was there a mass hatching or did they all come as individuals from different directions attracted by the plant or their own scent?
Also will they lay their eggs on the host plant?
I would like to photograph the eggs and the hatching.

Goldenrod Soldier Beetles
think they are Goldenrod Soldier Beetles... i have found a lot of them at my home in central Missouri...

Goldenrod Soldier Beetles
Thanks for the confirmation Andrew.
I just read in the Guide that the eggs are deposited in the soil or leaf litter and the young come out in the spring.
