Jumping Spider - Phidippus whitmani

Jumping Spider - Phidippus whitmani
Blackville, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada
April 27, 2013
Size: ca 8 mm
I thought this boldly marked spider would be an easy id, but I see nothing exactly like it in Bradley. Rats. It was on the ground on dead wood, but deciduous leaves have yet to emerge here, so it might be more normally found higher up.

Phidippus
I'd guess some morph of whitmani based solely on external morphology. (cf: Phidippus whitmani)

Thanks
That's the best match visually to images in Bradley, and fits the location and habitat. Don't remember now why I talked myself out of whitmani. Seems so reasonabe when you suggest it!

Gorgeous beastie, Ken
I have something similar today which I will post for expert attention soon.
