Bombyliid - Bombylius major

Bombyliid - Bombylius major
Mouth of the Elwha River, Clallam County, Washington, USA
April 30, 2013
This resting dorsal shot was the last in the series. I also got a short video clip, posted on my Olympic Natural History site. (slide 5)
Out of a lot of images, I picked the other ones based on being able to see, at least a bit, the wing pigment pattern. The individual was hovering in all images but this one.
