Black and yellow mud dauber?
Your specimen has just a little bit less yellowing on the top of the thorax than the other ones I see in the guide. I'm not familiar with the other options, but I'd guess it's at least in this genus.

Red spot
If you mean the spot on the back end or abdomen, I think that spot is actually yellow. I think the shading is making it appear reddish.

Yes,
I looked through the guide a bit more and they do seem to vary a bit in markings. Here is one that looks like it has a small red spot and here is one that doesn't have any spot at all . I'm guessing your specimen is just another variation. Eric Eaton would know for sure, maybe he will add a comment.
