Long-legged winged insect NW PA - Tipula abdominalis

Long-legged winged insect NW PA - Tipula abdominalis
Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 13, 2006
Size: body 4 cm, including leg
I have seen this winged-creature a few times on my garage door. It is very docile (or near death) as I took many photos getting quite close at times. We live very near a creek in a wooded area and get many intersting bugs but I never remember seeing this before.

Awesome
