Possible Larva - Pyractomena

Possible Larva - Pyractomena
Houghton, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
May 17, 2013
Size: 2 mm.
This insect was moving slowly on moss that was on a dead pine that was wind blown in a winter storm. The soil is sandy
and a small river ran along the trail where the tree was. The river can be very shallow with sandy sedimentation with small
rounded stones. Even though I think it is an immature insect, I'm not going to check the "Immature" box in case I'm mistaken.
The location is on the Pilgrim River just south of Houghton which is in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Lake Superior.
